What is a Google Knowledge Panel?
It is the information box Google shows beside or above search results for a person, company or brand it recognises as an entity. It can show a photo, description, job title, companies, books and official profiles.
What is entity SEO?
Entity SEO is the practice of helping search engines understand who or what something is — and how it connects to other things. Instead of optimizing for keywords, it builds consistent, verifiable facts about an entity across your website, structured data, Wikidata and trusted third-party sources.
Who can get a Knowledge Panel?
Anyone Google can confidently identify as a distinct, notable entity: founders, executives, authors, artists, experts and companies. Eligibility depends on your existing footprint, which is why every project starts with a free review.
How is a Knowledge Panel different from a Google Business Profile?
A Google Business Profile is a listing you create for a local business, with address, hours and reviews. A Knowledge Panel is generated by Google for an entity — a person, organization or brand — and cannot be created through a form.
How do Knowledge Panels affect AI search?
Google AI Overviews, Gemini and other assistants rely on the same entity data that powers Knowledge Panels. Clear, consistent entity signals make it more likely that AI answers describe you accurately.
Why does my panel show wrong information?
Usually because Google has found conflicting or outdated sources — an old photo, a wrong title or someone with the same name. Correcting it means fixing those sources and strengthening the ones that should take priority.
